Making the Most of a Small Bathroom
Bathrooms can often become cluttered and filled with linens, towels, accessories and toiletries. If your bathroom is small and feeling cramped, here are a few ways to maximise the space and keep it clear, no matter the size.
Hooks
Instead of folding towels and putting them in drawers or leaving them out on the air vent all day, why not throw a few hooks on the back of the bathroom door? This will free up drawer space for other items and since there’s no pipe behind a door, you won’t risk accidentally puncturing one. They can also be used to hang robes and other items, preventing them from piling up and getting wet. You can get individual hooks or a set, making it easy to use as many or as few as you need.

Suction Cup Shelves
If floor and surface space is at a premium, suction cup shelves can be a lifesaver. Stick them to mirrors or tiled surfaces and fill them with sponges, cloths, or even plants. They’re fully mobile and won’t leave a mark. This is a great alternative to permanent shelves, so if you’re renting or aren’t great at DIY, suction cup shelves are the perfect storage solution for you.
Wall Heater
Save some lower wall space and invest in a vertical wall column radiator. Not only does this provide heat to the whole room by taking up vertical space on one wall, there’s also more room for floor standing furniture. There are a range of styles and sizes to choose from, so if you decide to buy a column radiator you’ll be able to find one to suit your space. The number of columns can be varied for optimum fit and heat output, and there’s also a choice of colours so you can complement your bathroom’s existing colour scheme.

Washing
Laundry baskets can be large and can take up valuable space. One option is a collapsible bag that you can collapse and store when empty. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, so you’ll be able to find one that fits your bathroom perfectly. When it comes to drying laundry, a hanging air bag is perfect for a small bathroom. These hang from the ceiling and allow you to dry your laundry without taking up any floor space. They operate on a pulley system, so they’re easy to use, and when you’re done, you simply pull them back up to the ceiling.
Under Sink Storage
The sink is a bathroom essential, so why not update yours and find one with under-sink storage? Integrating the sink into the cabinet space is a great idea and provides plenty of space for all those bits and pieces that usually end up on all the surfaces, like toothpaste, brushes, soaps and accessories. This way, you’ll not only have all your toiletries in one place, but you’ll also free up some floor space by eliminating the need for a separate cabinet.
