Convertible tables: 15 models for all occasions

Modern transforming tables can change the area of the tabletop, its height, shape and purpose. The presence of such an element in the interior is a definite plus for the convenience and ability of the environment to “respond” to the needs of the owner.
Take a look at our selection of transforming tables and choose the one that works best for you!

Folding tables

Among the models of Italian factories, traditional folding tables are rare. They were practically replaced by more comfortable sliding models. The folding mechanism is sometimes used in designer models of dining and work tables.

A significant advantage of book tables is their compactness when folded.

Extendable tables

Convertible tables with sliding table tops are the most popular today. They are compact and ergonomic, quick and easy to convert, rectangular, oval and round.

It can be extended as a single-sided, symmetrical “wing” on the sides. Usually, the protruding parts need to be pulled from under the countertop towards you. They will rise to the desired position and with a click will stop flush with the main tabletop.

Sometimes pull-out sections do not serve to increase the area of the table top, but to change its geometry. For example, they turn a round table into an oval one.

Transformers with additional parts

A separate category of tables is transformable, in which the table top is “built up” due to additional parts. They are mounted on sliding rails – on the sides or in the center of the table. Depending on the model, the expansion modules can be stored in the subframe or separately.

In some models, the size of the table top depends on the number of additional modules added – you can expand the table by 1, 2, and sometimes 5 sections.
