7 color combinations

1. Lemon and Lime

This is definitely a bright and bold color combination! You may think it's an odd choice, but when done tastefully and cleverly, this lemon and lime color combination works well together. Fun, fresh, and gorgeous! Maybe a nice option for a kitchen or outdoor area.

2. Burnt orange and sky blue

Balance is key in this high-contrast color combination, but the soft coolness of the blue works well with the spicy warmth of the orange. If planned well, it could certainly work in a bedroom. Otherwise, a small bathroom could benefit from this color combination.

3. Baby blue and light yellow

This color combination is versatile as you can balance the colors equally or make one of the colors dominant and only add touches of the second. These two light tones are a perfect match for a baby's bedroom for either gender – just use more blue for a boy. It also works very well in a kitchen.

4. Dark red and dark green

Red and green aren’t just for Christmas. This intriguing color combination is quite eye-catching, but should be used with caution in well-lit rooms. As opposites on the color wheel, red and green always work well together.

5. Pastel pink and navy blue

The softness of light/pastel pink is matched by the strength of dark/navy in both casual and formal settings. Pink is often avoided in the home as it can be seen as too feminine, but when used with a masculine navy blue it is a perfect match.

6. Lime green and bright pink

A funkier color combination that you won’t find anywhere else. Yet they’re a great pairing that complements each other’s vibrant personalities. Lime green and bright pink are bright colors that shouldn’t be missed, so you’ll want to use the combination sparingly in small spaces indoors or perhaps outdoor entertaining areas.

7. Mocha coffee and enchanting red

Smooth mocha brown softens the bright, captivating red in this color combination. You wouldn’t think these colors would work well together, but they do. And they work great in living spaces because they create a somewhat cozy and inviting atmosphere.

There are many other color combinations you can consider for different spaces in your home. Often, different shades of the colors mentioned above will work as well, such as bright yellow with bright blue (instead of baby blue and light yellow). Which of these seven options will you consider when painting next?
