There are global trends that indicate changes in ecology, technology, culture and society. The name of the new style comes from the French word “rocaille”, which can be literally translated as “pebble” or “piece of stone”. Initially, this was the name given to the peculiar stucco ornaments made of pebbles and seashells, which could be seen on the walls of the “caves” – pavilions of the French palace parks. The interiors of the cool pavilions were stylized as caves, where ladies and gentlemen hid from the heat on summer evenings. Later, rocaille began to be called a stucco ornament resembling a seashell curl. This element became the main feature of Rococo.

It is difficult to say how long the trend will last, for example, the fashion for colored mirrors flew away and never took root in Russian interiors.

Architectural motifs

The boundaries between art, fashion, architecture and interior design have always been blurred. This year’s rising trend in architectural motifs is another confirmation of this.

Bathrooms, like kitchens, are less like technical rooms and more like living rooms.
