8 women, 8 interiors and the power of kindness
Our environment has a profound effect on our inner world. Therefore, we must be “on the same wavelength” with our living space and interior elements, creating contact and even internal resonance between us and our surroundings. Based on this inspiring principle, the company LAGO developed a modular designwhich acts as a kind of alphabet that allows you to decorate the space in complete harmony with your inner world.
“We aim to develop design as a tool for social transformation to examine the relevant issues of modern life. Now, kindness has become our subject.”
We present to your attention 8 interiors inspired by women, which inspired the creation of 8 different concepts of the company's furniture. LAGO Last year during Milan Design Week. Every single one of the women said that for her it was a design of decency and kindness.
1 REFLECTIONS WHITE
“Kindness! It is something that allows us to be incredibly useful, open and generous for the inner and outer life of all humanity.” – Carla Fracci.
A danceable muse recognized by the most respected ballet critics and greatly appreciated by an international audience, Carla Fracci is an outstanding Italian ballerina and Italy's cultural ambassador to the world. A renowned dancer and elegant woman, she has introduced ballet to the public by conveying her love of dance, music and harmony through her talent.
Nobility and elegance are the basic concepts of the interior. The purity of white permeates the space and shines dazzlingly thanks to the reflections in the large mirrored doors of the LAGO wardrobe.
2 CAPITAL WEIGHT
“Kindness is like music, it comes from within. It fills us with emotions and its manifestations know no bounds.”- Patrizia Bambi.
Founder and creative director of the fashion brand Patrizia Pepe, which she debuted in 1993, Patrizia Bambi is characterized by a passion and determination that inspire her. This creative fire is reflected in her designs for dynamic, sophisticated and curious women.
Patrizia Bambi's LAGO interior stems from this energetic spirit, constantly open to the influences of the worlds of art, literature and music. It is particularly inspired by rock music, because of its ability to reveal real emotions and transform them into a messenger of kindness.
3 SKY IN ROOM
“Kindness is calmness, a quiet, welcoming spirit that can create harmony and beauty.” – Cristina Celestino.
Architect and designer Cristina Celestino is the founder of the Attico Design brand, which has been realizing special projects and unique refined spaces for private companies since 2010. From her collaboration with LAGO, in addition to the design of this room, the Mezzaestate brand was born, a jacquard fabric made of an elegant geometric mesh, romantic and gentle, using the amaryllis flower as the main image.
The LAGO space image created by Cristina Celestino takes you to secret and secluded places. The sophisticated home setting, which at first glance seems personal and intimate, transforms the idea of a room and opens up infinity.
4 EVERYTHING
“Goodness meets the world, it does not defend itself against it. It understands, not the judges.” – Chiara Gamberale.
Translated into 18 languages, the Italian writer debuted in 1999 with The Subtle Life, followed by The Blind Spot (2008, Campiello finalist), Lights in Others' Houses (2009), Ten Minutes (2013) and “Anything” (2017). A specialist in the study of deep emotions and relationships, she is used to asking more questions than giving answers. “I always ask myself why can’t we all be kind? Isn’t it harder to be bad sometimes?”
The interior of Chiara Gamberale is a dreamy space where books are stored on floating shelves – the perfect setting for an intimate place where imagination and dialogue merge freely.
5 timeless shelters
“Being with your team, in sadness and joy. Kindness is respect for the people around you.” – Maurizia Cacciatori.
Maurizia Cacciatori, the icon of Italian women's volleyball, represents talent, dedication and love for her sport. Her long history of success includes 228 appearances for the national team and a trophy at the World Championships in Japan. The idea of kindness, associated with respect for others, reflects her calm and determined spirit.
Maurizia Cacciatori's interior is a modern space characterized by lightness and naturalness, where time stands still and everything is regulated by the rhythms of nature.
6 THANKS, WOMAN, SMILE
“Kindness is a feminine lightness that holds the world together and that alone can save it.” – Lella Golfo.
Lella Golfo is President of the Marisa Bellisario Charitable Foundation, created in 1989, which recognizes and promotes the talents of women entrepreneurs, managers and professionals, as well as women human rights activists. She believes that spreading and promoting good today means having courage, going against the crowd and trying to contribute to a better world.
For Lella Golfo, kindness is a woman. “Benevolent beauty” is what will save the world.
7 UNLIMITED
“Kindness cannot be taught. It is born of respect and openness.” – Camilla Lunelli.
Camilla Lunelli, Cantine Ferrari’s communications manager, is an entrepreneur, mother of three and lover of the mountains. She is passionate about developing the theme of kindness through design from a woman’s perspective, without the typical male stereotypes of professional success.
Camilla Lunelli joined the LAGO project with a courtesy idea that inspired a nostalgic and romantic interior. “Boundless” is a visually limitless space, an untouched forest at sunset: an open space for wine tasting and leisurely communication.
8 HOUSES, LOVELY OFFICE
“Kindness is a conscious decision to think about the needs of others, to do things for others without being told.”
This office is a place that empowers and inspires Intesa Sanpaolo women.
Starting with the belief that courtesy in the office world is about offering the opportunity to work in the best place, the interior dedicated to the team of the Intesa Sanpaolo banking group is a comfortable home for a family atmosphere during working hours.
LAGO It is an innovative brand in the Italian design world that adheres to an expanded interpretation of the concept of “design” as a discipline. LAGO believes, firstly, that design produces meaning, not just objects, and secondly, that it can change the entire production process and offer a new vision and a new lifestyle. LAGO does not create interior elements so much as symbol systems (alphabets) and encourages customers to use them, together creating designs enriched by the energy of the user.
Despite its strong growth and willingness to exchange with other cultures – foreign partners, suppliers, consumers and bloggers – the company has not lost touch with its heritage.
