Futuristic interior design and furniture of the future

Minimalism is the basis of futurism, rejecting classical techniques of creativity and traditional art materials, using industrial and natural geometric shapes and neutral colors. A modern person will quickly rest and recover after a busy day in a spacious room, free from unnecessary details, decor and other things. In addition, it is easier to maintain order in such a space. Getting rid of unnecessary things also means preserving quality products. Decent, durable, thoughtful.

The concept of a futuristic style is that the perfection of the form of furniture items should coexist with functionality.

The color scheme of such an interior is mostly neutral with a minimum of bright color accents. The most commonly used are white, gray, metallic, beige and black. Preference is given to smooth matte and glossy surfaces, as well as mirror and glass surfaces.

Futurism in the interior can be based on incredible ideas from fantasy works of art in many ways. That is why futuristic design often resembles a stylization of an interstellar ship traveling through the galaxy.

One of the features of the style is the abandonment of traditional and classical design techniques in favor of new creative ideas and the use of unusual materials. A futuristic interior can “pull” us out of the hectic pace of life, make us look at things differently and think about the future.

A combination of contrasting textures and a creative approach will allow you to create an innovative and at the same time comfortable apartment interior.

For lighting, chandeliers made of metal and glass, laconic white or silver lamps look harmoniously. Built-in, LED and string lights, fluorescent, halogen lamps illuminate the entire interior, as well as individual islands or objects, allowing zoning and expansion of space.

Luminous furniture helps to achieve weightlessness, the effect of “floating in space,” flight.

Futuristic furniture design looks interesting outdoors. Against the backdrop of wildlife, it becomes even more unearthly and impressive.

The basis of futurism was protest and denial of previous forms, and the main task: to surprise, shock, bring to life the most original and unexpected ideas.

Karim Rashid has epitomized futurism and minimalism in industrial design over the past two decades. Flowing shapes and vibrant colors are his hallmarks. He boldly merges the real world with the virtual:

The concept of the models is based on smooth, modern lines that can take on bizarre configurations without violating the main principles of industrial design.

So what will the interiors of the future look like? What furniture will be produced in 100, 200 years? It is still impossible to give an answer that does not prevent modern designers from trying to predict potential trends in the distant future.
