Classic combination: chairs with and without armrests

Many Italian furniture manufacturers offer collections of different types of chairs made in the same style. As a rule, the range includes a traditional dining chair and a chair with armrests (half-chair), sometimes also a stool and a bar stool.

Half-chairs and chairs perfectly “fit” at the same table. It is most convenient to alternate 1 half-chair and 2 chairs without armrests. Another popular arrangement is half-chairs at the ends of a rectangular table and chairs on the long sides.

A mix of chairs with and without armrests is often found in classic and modern elegant interiors.

Soft chairs with different upholstery

The same chairs with different upholstery, gathered around the table, will look interesting and unusual. It is best if the textile surfaces are made of complementary fabrics: with different patterns, but in the same color scheme. As a rule, in the assortment of most factories, the choice of textiles allows you to choose several matching colors.

Variegated variety

If you like bold experiments, you can collect a collection of chairs of the same shape with a frame in different colors around the table. It is easy to choose from a variety of modern chairs made of metal and plastic from the factories ALF, Calligaris, Bonaldo, Connubia. You can also get contrasting chairs made of dark and light wood, as well as the same ones with an opaque colored lacquer finish.

Same material, different shape

The original solution would be a composition of chairs made of the same material, but different shapes. For example, you can choose versatile chairs in white or black plastic, or find matching models in the same type of wood.

A stylistically “safe” option is to choose chairs from one manufacturer’s range. Combining chairs from different manufacturers is more difficult, finding a harmonious combination, but no one else will have a second such set!
