What kind of kitchen do you need?

What shape?

The first thing you need to decide on when choosing a kitchen is its layout. There are 6 main types:

In the photo: different kitchen layouts. Areas highlighted in color: stocks (gri), storage of dishes (orange), washing (blue), preparation (Yellow), preparation (red).

What to choose? A detailed analysis of the pros and cons of each layout is worthy of a separate article.

The most ergonomic corner kitchens, but without a corner sink. And the options for arranging furniture in two rows are good for long and open spaces.
G or P-shaped kitchens are suitable for large rooms. Island headsets are very convenient, but they require communication with an independent unit.

To make an informed decision, it is worth analyzing your storage needs and deciding how many drawers and cabinets you need. You also need to take into account the area of the room, the location of outlets, water supply and ventilation.

More than one option may work. Draw a freehand sketch for each layout and check that the working triangle rule is followed for the chosen furniture and appliance arrangement.

Array or MDF?

The design of kitchen furniture and the materials it is made from largely determine the budget of the kitchen.

Solid wood kitchens – the most expensive. Its advantages are strength, environmental friendliness and durability. Solid wood kitchens are made in different styles – classic, baroque, provence and country, minimalism, eco.

Modern kitchen furniture in a concise style as a rule, it is made of MDF boards with eco-veneer, varnish or glass facades. This option is more economical than an array, but imposes design restrictions. In composite kitchens there are no embossed facades, carved decor and other complex elements. However, they cannot be called boring – while maintaining the balance of forms, modern kitchens look very impressive.

See with your own eyes

Unfortunately, you will not be able to see the Italian kitchen of the future at the selection stage. All headsets are made and finished to order. But it is quite realistic to evaluate the quality of materials – in a good hall there are always samples of finishes, accessories and decor.

In the BeyazYastık Gallery hall, you can see examples of the materials used to make Italian kitchens presented in our catalogue.

What should be in it?

Competent internal content is not only a guarantee of order. If the range of cabinets and shelves is correctly selected, there will be no need for “extra” modules.

How to determine how many and which cabinets are needed? The same principle applies here as when planning a wardrobe – you need to proceed from the kitchen “arsenal”.

The presence of special storage systems – extendable baskets, bottle holders, drawers with closures – significantly improves the ergonomics of the kitchen. However, it is worth remembering that all “special purpose” boxes significantly increase the total cost of the headset.

Choosing a model

When browsing online catalogs, remember that photos almost always show an incomplete set of modules. The availability of the necessary elements for a particular model should be requested from the manager of the furniture showroom.

Also, remember that most Italian kitchens are available in more than one finish. For example, if you are looking for a kitchen with a red facade or in a “walnut” color, it is better to contact the salon manager immediately so that he can choose models that can be made in the desired color.

In the photo: There are more than 10 finishes in the Pedini Materika kitchen. You can choose from: natural wood, marble, acrylic, glass and metal in various combinations.

To make the kitchen suitable

The most expensive, elite kitchens are made to measure and fit “like a glove.” A more economical option is when the manufacturer offers the same cabinets in several sizes. As a rule, the more expensive the brand, the more options there are for each module.

If the selected cabinets do not fit the room, leaving a gap of 5-10 cm to the wall, it may be worth looking for an analogue from another manufacturer with a different size grid.

You can't do it without the help of a professional.

Choosing and planning a kitchen is not a headache, but a pleasant task. Of course, if you are supported by experienced professionals.
