Famous sofas and chairs

We invite you to take a look at the most famous sofas and chairs of the 20th century and modern models that have adopted their features.

Bean bag Sacco

The frameless pouf chair, so popular today, was invented by Italian designers Franco Teodoro, Cesare Paolini and Piero Gatti. When the concept of the model was ready, the authors signed a production contract with the Zanotta factory, which still makes these chairs to this day. The chair received the name Sacco (bag) and became the ancestor of all modern frameless chairs.

The Bibendum armchair is the most famous work of Eileen Gray, one of the most important designers of the 20th century.

Panton Chair

The history of the famous molded plastic chair dates back to 1960. Its author is the Danish architect and designer Werner Panton. The chair made of colored plastic of an extravagant shape made a splash and immediately found both many fans and categorical dislike.

The original went through 4 material changes and minor shape changes before a cheap and durable material was found to make it.

Panton's recognizable lines inspire designers today. The features of the legendary chair can be easily traced in many modern models: Moroso Three Skin, Cattelan Italia Betty, Midj F12, Venere lounge and Domodinamica Mist, Atmosphera Glamour.
