Organizing a Bedroom Without Furniture

How to Organize a Bedroom Without Furniture? Renewing a bedroom, its decoration or style can be achieved in several ways. There are many ways to achieve this goal.

One of them, which we will see today, is without doing any work and without buying new furniture. In other words, renovating a bedroom in the simplest and most economical way possible.

However, if we do it right, we can make a dramatic difference. Like the 15 renovated bedrooms that weren't worked on or furnished that we'll see next.

We'll take a look at the before and after so you can see the huge difference in the bedrooms I made, and I'll comment on what was added or removed so you can take notes and ideas for doing the same in yours. With that said, let's take a look at these 15 bedrooms.

Wallpaper is key

Take a good look at this bedroom.

It has the same bed, the same decorative ornaments, and a very, very small space.

Just add a strip of wallpaper to the headboard wall, plus a shelf and two pendant lights on either side of the bed, and the change is spectacular.

Nothing else was needed. With four simple changes, she went from having an ugly, bland and vulgar bedroom to having a stylish bedroom.

In case you do not want or cannot because there is gotelé on the walls, as we will see below, there are other ways to renew a bedroom without or without wallpaper:

From darkness to light

It is true that a desk has been added to this bedroom, but apart from that, the thickness of the decoration depends especially on the color.

In this case, the dark brown was removed and a very soft stone color was added, a rug was added at the foot of the bed and some matching decorative elements like pillows and pictures, and a ceiling light was added.

A gorgeous bedroom renovation that doesn't require any work but specifically benefits from the great power of paint.

Let's see another one.

From light to dark to graceful

Design and Photography That Evades Law

It is not always better to use light colors. The before and after of the bedroom we see above these lines is a good example of this.

It went from a bright light shade to an elegant dark gray, and the space was completely transformed.

It is true that a large headboard was added, but even if it wasn't, painting it a medium/dark grey, putting a matching rug on the nightstands and some nice lamps would have made for a very effective remodel.

Pay special attention to the order

I worked with a client before where the space I wanted to decorate was really well decorated, really beautiful, and had a lot of potential. But he didn't like it and it was because there was so much “junk” everywhere: exposed wires, boxes, clothes, scattered books, etc.

Once everything was removed and the space cleaned, it looked like new, as did the upstairs bedroom, which was furnished with IKEA furniture.

The only changes made for her renovation were to straighten it, clean it, give it a coat of paint and change the curtains and that was enough to have a beautiful and well-decorated bedroom.

Just try changing the color

Other times, changing the color of the bedroom can be enough to make it look more beautiful and elegant, like the bedroom we saw above.

Take a good look and you will see that no furniture has been added or any work done, just the color has been changed from white to gray and the result is very good.

Painting a standard size bedroom will take you a day, a weekend at most, and around €100 for the paint itself, rollers, brushes and materials such as paper or plastics and masking tape. It is definitely worth it.

Add an image gallery

A simple, well-planned and studied picture gallery can completely change the decoration of a bedroom.

Naturally, when we want to renovate the bedroom, even if it is without work or furniture, we must add or remove something because we are not going to change the bedroom from nowhere.

But an image gallery is a very simple and inexpensive change, and as you can see above these paragraphs, it can completely transform a space.

This isn't the only thing that's been changed in the bedroom, but it is the most noticeable.

Change the color palette of the bedroom

Changing the color of the bedroom walls is one thing, the other is changing the color palette, which gives a bigger change to the bedroom.

We have previously seen how to transform a bedroom simply by changing the color of the walls.

Now, just above, we see how the bedroom was refreshed by changing the entire color palette.

It changed from a palette of beige, blue and brown to a palette of gray and red tones.

If you want to achieve a bigger change or make the change more noticeable, do not just paint the walls, but also change the color of the textiles so that the bedroom shows a new palette.

Adding a few cushions or a new duvet cover won't cost much and you'll practically have a new bedroom looking like it.

And the bedding is one of the most important elements of a bedroom decoration, because the bed is the main piece of furniture and has a lot of visual weight, if we change the bed textiles we will achieve a big change. and if not, look at the bedroom below:

Change textiles

Besides the two paintings, one on each table, the biggest focus of this bedroom renovation is on the bed linens and the bedroom in general.

Same headboard, same bed, same desks, but she made a dramatic change by changing the cushions and bedding, the curtains and the rug.

If you think about it, the bedroom is the area of the house that by its nature needs more textiles and looks better. Therefore, it makes sense to completely change the decoration of the bedroom when replacing them with new ones.

Magnificent before and after

DIY Passion design and photography

This is one of my favorite changes. See what can be done with a little paint and wallpaper.

The wooden bed base was painted white and a blue wallpaper was added to the headboard wall. This is the bulk of the renovation.

Naturally, bedding also carries a lot of weight in this transformation.

Next, a few nightstands and two wall sconces were added, one on each side of the bed.

A gorgeous renovation without any work or furniture.

Moldings on the walls increase the level of decor

In the renovation of this other bedroom, decorative moldings made of wooden planks were added to the wall of the headboard, to be painted white later.

The rest of the walls are painted a medium gray tone.

Two white curtains with black trim were added and the bed cushions were replaced.

Additionally, a mirror and a bench at the foot of the bed complete this beautiful and effective renovation.

Do you like stripes?

There are many decorating techniques for walls, from the classic and homely gotelé to stucco, Florentine earthenware, vertical or horizontal stripes, as we see in the bedroom upstairs.

In addition to the white and gray horizontal stripes that transform the bedroom, the curtains were also changed to a white color with black trim.

Added a tapestry, a mirror on the headboard and a pretty ceiling light.

Four simple changes that can transform an ugly and boring bedroom into a modern and stylish one.

Make the most of your furniture

Beautify DIY Design and photography

Imagine you have large, antique furniture just like the bedroom above and you don't want or can't replace it.

In this case, you can do many things, but one of them is to ensure that the furniture integrates with the decoration. In other words, give them meaning.

If you look at the “before” bedroom photo, the furniture is out of date, making the bedroom feel old, right?

However, by renewing the bedroom decoration and opting for a rustic style like the style of the furniture, it ensured that the furniture made sense and integrated perfectly into the decoration.

Add a distressed white brick faux wallpaper and two rustic wall sconces, and the entire ensemble works wonders.

In this case, a rustic/industrial sliding door has also been added, but it is not the main protagonist of the transformation.

Change the furniture

If space permits, try moving furniture, especially the bed.

Perhaps you will find that you feel more comfortable in the new layout and that the bedroom looks better.

In the upstairs bedroom, in addition to changing the position of the bed, the walls were painted white, the headboard was removed, and a coffee table and rug were added.

Again, four simple changes made a powerful and impactful change. A truly new bedroom.

How about a little DIY?

Table and Stove design and photography

There is no need to build or buy furniture, but if you like to DIY you can make a big difference.

Take a look at the bedroom above. Everything is exactly the same except for the gray painted wood plank wall that has been installed, and the change is really impressive.

Nothing else was changed.

Pictures and coloring

I love this other bedroom because we can appreciate the tremendous power of paint and artwork.

Notice that everything else remains the same, same furniture, same location, same everything, but with the addition of light gray on the walls and the change of paintings, the bedroom has taken on a more elegant, more professional tone, and gained style.

It's up to you to decide how much you want to spend and how much you want to change. But as you can see, no matter how little you do, if it's done well, you can really make a big difference.

I'm sure these 15 remodeled bedrooms will help you decorate yours without the artifacts or furniture, but if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.
